Meet the team: Justin de Keizer

Justin de Keizer is the technological driving force behind Databalance. As Head of Technology, he bridges client needs with technical innovation, always looking for solutions that work today and stay relevant tomorrow. With over six years of experience at Databalance and a broad technical background, he knows how to bring clarity to complex challenges, and how to bring the people around him along with infectious enthusiasm.

Who are you and what is your role at Databalance?

At Databalance, I’m Head of Technology. In this role, I’m constantly focused on the technology that powers our services and meets our clients’ needs. That’s what makes it so exciting. I spend a lot of time talking with our clients about the challenges they face, and with our teams about how we can deploy, develop, or improve new technologies to make that possible. On top of that, I make sure that organizations we add to our group transition as smoothly as possible toward using the same tools and solutions for our clients.

How did you end up at Databalance?

I joined just over six years ago. I was specifically looking for an organization with a clear growth ambition, a plan to make it happen, and a strong drive for innovation. Looking back over those six years, we’ve taken some truly enormous steps: in our teams, our services, and the clients we get to work with.

What knowledge do you bring to the team?

I’ve always been a tech person at heart, but I love organizing things and solving operational challenges. Wherever business goals require technology, or solutions and processes need to be designed, added, or improved, that’s where you’ll find me. I’m a generalist when it comes to technology and have touched just about everything. I use that broad foundation to maintain a clear overview and provide our clients with the right solutions. And as the cherry on top, I like to throw in a little bad humor, which I always find funnier than anyone else does.

What makes working at Databalance appealing to you?

The positive impact we have as a team on our clients. Innovations and exciting developments within the organization come from every direction, and pretty much everyone is always enthusiastic about them. That makes working here not only dynamic but also creates a strong sense of togetherness. At the end of the day, there are few things more satisfying than building great solutions together with like-minded people for clients who truly appreciate them.

What are the key developments in your field?

It’s become a bit of a buzzword, but it’s simply the reality: AI. The IT world has always been dynamic, with developments following one another rapidly, but over the past twelve months, that pace has accelerated enormously. This brings positive effects and plenty of opportunities, but at the same time new risks and some less desirable side effects. Navigating that momentum and continuing to steer both our organization and our clients in the right direction is more challenging than ever before – but because of that, also more exciting.

What are you passionate about and what would you get up early for?

Physical challenges! Sports in the broadest sense of the word. A good run, a bike ride, or a SUP session. A game of field hockey, tennis, padel, or even a round of golf. A few hours at the gym or mountain biking through the woods, I’m up for all of it, even at 5 AM. Just make sure you bring a good cup of coffee. Trust me, it’s better for everyone involved.

What are you most proud of in your work?

The fact that behind so many organizations you encounter in daily life, we get to provide part of the IT services. Our services are focused on business-critical organizations, and you see a lot of them out in the world. It never gets old. There’s something quietly cool about running into your clients everywhere you go.
