An IT transformation with no impact on production
For years, the Menken Keuken worked with an IBM AS400 and an outdated ERP system. Support for this expired, making modernization necessary. The choice fell on an on-premise solution, matching the operational requirements and dependence on a stable connection. A new server environment had to be set up without disrupting production. “Our production runs just-in-time. IT downtime is not an option, because then the whole process comes to a standstill.”
Mirrored IT solution
In collaboration with Databalance, a solution was designed where data is replicated in real time across two locations. This ensures maximum uptime and rapid failover in the event of a disaster. The new infrastructure is based on Dell EMC hardware and VMware virtualization, so redundancy and high availability are built in as standard. “Our requirements, wishes and costs were mapped out. The overall picture just fit.”
Thanks to smart license management and optimal utilization of IT resources, the new IT environment is not only more stable, but also more efficient. Performance increased by 150%, while remote desktop memory grew by 200%. This enables the organization to work scalably and flexibly, without sacrificing reliability.
