On behalf of Pensioenfonds PGB, PGB Pension Services handles the administration and payment of pensions for more than 300,000 people. The fund manages assets of over 23 billion euros and must comply with increasingly strict laws and regulations. To guarantee service continuity and be prepared for future growth, PGB Pensioendiensten was looking for an IT partner that could help modernize its infrastructure.
Customer perspective
A robust fallback environment
With the growth of the pension fund, the need for a stable and scalable IT infrastructure also increased. PGB Pension Services chose a fallback environment that guarantees continuity. Working with Databalance, a new infrastructure was designed based on the Dell EMC VRTX, a compact and powerful data center with integrated computing power, storage and network functionality. “In the event of a disaster, it used to take three days to be operational. Now we can be fully operational again within 24 hours.”
From design to implementation
The implementation of the new IT infrastructure was carefully prepared and tested. The contingency test went flawlessly, which not only proved the effectiveness of the solution, but also strengthened confidence within the organization. This solid approach allows PGB Pension Services to move quickly in the event of a disaster and minimize the impact on services. “The test results were so good that employees didn’t realize they were working in the fallback environment.”
The chosen solution offers not only maximum reliability but also cost efficiency. Thanks to the modular design of the Dell EMC VRTX, expansion is easy and additional storage capacity and computing power can be added quickly. This prevents unnecessary investments and ensures that the IT infrastructure remains in line with the growth of PGB Pension Services.
